Garden International School (GIS) consistently delivers outstanding academic results, positioning us among the top British international schools globally. Each year, our students excel in their accomplishments and results, securing some of the best A Level and IGCSE scores in the region. We are immensely proud of our students for their exceptional achievements in 2024, which are a testament to their relentless effort, dedication, and perseverance, as well as the unwavering commitment and support of our teachers.
A Level (Year 13)
In 2024, we celebrate another remarkable set of A Level results, with 96 students graduating from Sixth Form after taking exams in their choice of subjects from the 24 subjects offered at GIS. Notably, 59% of the grades awarded were A*/A, with an impressive 71% of our students achieving at least one A*/A, and a remarkable 82% of grades awarded were A* to B.
AS Level (Year 12)
Similarly, our Year 12 students can be incredibly proud of their resilience and determination, which has been rewarded with exceptional results in this year’s exams. Impressively, 55% achieved A grades at AS Level, with 42% students attaining at least three A grades. These results place our Year 12 students in an advantageous position; having completed modular A Level courses, they now hold AS Level qualifications that will significantly strengthen their university applications.
IGCSE (Year 11)
This year, 140 dedicated Year 11 students took exams in 29 subjects, achieving an outstanding 100% pass rate. Additionally, a record-breaking 99% of our students earned at least one A*/A, which is a phenomenal achievement for such a large cohort. Of the 1,228 grades awarded, an incredible 72% were graded A/A*, and 90% of the grades awarded were A* to B.

As always at this time of year we celebrate the hard work that students, teachers and families have invested collectively with the publication of the IGCSE and A Level examination results. Again this year we see excellent results with some outstanding achievements in both grades and value added showing the fruits of students’ labour. With students graduating GIS and going on to top universities globally at this time of year, and a significant proportion moving from Year 11 into our highly desirable Sixth Form to start their Sixth Form studies, there is much excitement and wonder about what is ahead for all our students.

Our consistently strong A Level results, in conjunction with our exceptional personalised GIS Diploma program and enrichment opportunities, ensure that our graduates are highly sought after by the world’s leading universities. This year, 1 in 5 GIS students gained acceptance to a top 10 global institution, and 1 in 2 were admitted to one of the world’s top 100 universities.

The current A Level cohort will pursue studies in a diverse array of 42 different courses, spanning fields such as: Acting, Accounting, Biochemistry, Biology, Business, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Animation, Computer Science, Crime and Security, Cultural Anthropology, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Geoscience, Graphic Design, Law, Material Science, Mathematics, Media, Music, Neuroscience, Psychology, Sociology, Sport & Exercise Psychology and Urban Studies.They will be attending a phenomenal 43 institutions across 14 different countries.
Whilst I have been teaching for almost 20 years, I still see every day in school as a privilege and it has been an honour supporting these incredible young people and to have had some part in their lives. The class of 2024 consists of 96 distinctly different individuals, representing 18 different nationalities. This rich diversity has made them an exciting and inspiring cohort to work with and we are proud of the results of every one of them. As they join our alumni family we look forward to hearing about their ongoing adventures in Universities all around the World.
