With the pressure and fear caused by recent events, no matter how difficult things might have seemed at times, we should hopefully all feel like we have something to be thankful for. Whether it’s the warmth, comfort and love that family provides, the security of your job, your health, yoga mat, Netflix or pen and paper. We are all thankful for something!
Indeed those of us in the GIS community are most likely to feel more fortunate that others. We have the gift and support of a first class education; amazing teachers, awesome friends and a kind and caring community. Even when things get tough, we’ve got each other.
So what are you thankful for? GIS Head Student, Alex Lim would love to galvanize the GIS community spirit and remind everyone that there is abundance all around us. Building on an idea first launched back in 2018 by previous Head Student (Vanessa Lee), #IAmThankfulFor is a project that focuses on spreading gratitude to support our community.
Spurred on by the recent lockdown, Alex wants to reignite the campaign and remind the GIS Community the value in staying grounded and supporting each other.
We have been collecting photos from students, teachers and lots of other people both within and outside of the GIS Community. These are just a few examples of the things we have been grateful for as a school. If you want to be part of this incredible campaign, here’s all you have to do!
- Let us know who you are thankful for and submit your entry via our google form. We will make sure you will be featured on our GIS channels!
- Use this badge or #IAmThankfulFor and add it to your FB profile to show your gratitude.
- Send a little act of kindness to a loved one: share online who you are thankful for and why, tag the person in your post or send him/her a message with the #IAmThankfulFor tag and get them to pass on the gratitude!
The power of gratitude and kindness goes a long way! Let’s unite as a community to make the world a brighter, happier place one # at a time. Share you spirit @gismalaysia
