Learning Community
Learning and Growing together
Learning Community
We believe that we can grow and learn together as a community. At GIS we aim to constantly develop each learner’s full potential by providing a world class learning environment. We achieve this through impactful learning for our students, nurturing strong partnership with families and the wider community, and investing in the continuous professional development of our world class teachers through our extensive professional learning programme.
STUDENT COMMUNITY
Innovative Learning for Students
Our innovative approach to learning sparks curiosity, nurtures interests and develops passions amongst our students. A diverse experience for our students ensures that they are well equipped to become changemakers in the field of their choice.
TEACHING COMMUNITY
Teachers Professional Development
Our staff are deeply committed to their own ongoing professional development, often using data and research to develop their practice. Benefiting from half a day dedicated to professional development each week, our teachers take the time to explore pedagogy, plan to implement new ideas, collaborate and reflect upon their practice.
PARENT COMMUNITY
Parent Engagement and Enrichment
Our weekly parent workshops are always well attended and cover a broad range of topics. With sessions varying from those focused on curriculum and school related initiatives to others that explore issues of broader interest, there is something for everyone. The goal? To ensure our parents know the important role they play as part of our school community.
ALUMNI NETWORK
Alumni Giving Back
Our Alumni are an important part of life at GIS, with many returning, in person or virtually, to support our community. From acting as mentors to offering internships as part of our THRIVE Programme, to speaking at Career Days or Pre-University sessions, our diverse alumni network plays an important role in the development of our school. The best part? It's always growing!
